Thanksgiving Day!

We had a great Thanksgiving lunch at Mamaw May's house on Thanksgiving Day.
The day before Thanksgiving, mom & mamaw mixed up the Chicken Dressing

I was so excited to learn how to make their famous Chicken Dressing.

Thanksgiving morning, Bryleigh helped me make Deviled Eggs. I also made an untraditional apple pie, brownies & brown sugar bacon wraps to take.
When we got to mamaw's, it was so beautiful outside that we all got outside and enjoyed the warm weather. Jeff played soccer with Bryleigh
and he helped Tracee feed the ducks, which has become a tradition.

We all had fun playing on the tire swing
Here's Bryleigh on the tire swing.
Here we are enjoying Thanksgiving Lunch. We had alot of food left over! :)
We set the girls up a table of their own. Tracee thinks she is just as big as Bryleigh & Mary.
The girls love "Uncle Chris".

I was so glad Jeff was able to be off work and enjoy the day with us.
We even had a visitor come. A beautiful cat showed up.

I'm sure Aunt Joann was sore the next day after carrying this heavy load! LOL!

It was a great day. It was a sad day but, we are so blessed. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone~

Trip to the Centurylink Hanger,Airport Control Tower, & Radar Control Center 11/19/2010

Today, we had the rare opportunity to go visit the Centurylink Hanger. Bob Corcoran, a homeschool parent & Centurylink pilot, gave us a guided tour of the area.

Here's our group- It was really cold in the hanger but it was worth it!

We were able to see a plane engine & learn about the different parts of the plane
We watched as the planes were moved out of the hanger and filled with fuel
Bryleigh was even able to sit in the Pilot's seat
She loved looking through the plane
We then got to go to the Control Tower at the Monroe Regional Airport
Bryleigh loved it. We were able to look out across Monroe. We got to see a plane take off and land while we were there.

Afterwards, we got to go to the Radar Control Room.

We really had a great time and can't wait to go back again!

Just enjoying our lives :)

Life has slowed down a little. I've finished all my Christmas shopping so now we are just having fun & enjoying the Holiday Seasons....Co-Op is over for a month, and now we are looking forward to Thanksgiving & Christmas!! There is never a dull moment in our house...Here's a few pictures of all of us. Enjoy!

My angels! I can't imagine life without them. They are a blessing & a joy to be around. They can always put a smile on my face :)

My future Rock Star :) I don't know where she would get that from :)

Jeff & the girls.

The girls in their playhouse. They love setting up the chairs in the living room and playing "house".

The girls love to play "piggy back" with dad. They also love when he chases them & plays Hide & Seek with them. It's hilarious to watch!

The girls stayed with my aunt on this day while we went to the funeral. Bryleigh got her cat from my aunt so she wanted me to take a picture of her with "Sara" the cat. She wanted to send the picture to my aunt...so of course, Tracee had to show off her baby in the picture too. This turned out to be a great picture.

Tracee loves the mirrors at Co-Op :) She can't get over the fact that there is another person that looks just like her. LOL~

Just take a seat anywhere! She was so sleepy in this picture that she just sat right down into a container of blocks! haha.

Bryleigh & her friends at Co-Op. Bryleigh loves Co-Op. She said she will miss it but, I'm looking forward to the break.

Tribute to my Grandfather

I've always heard you can tell alot about a person by the size of their funeral. That is not necessarily true. You can tell alot about a person by the stories you hear after the person has gone to be with the Lord. I sat and listened to people who knew Papaw yesterday. Oh, the stories! I could go on for hours about what all he has done throughout his life and how he has touched so many peoples' lives.

My grandfather passed away Saturday, November 13th at 2:30am after a 10 year battle with Emphazema & a 3 year battle with Stage 4 Renal Failure.

Papaw was born in 1921. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945 as a Cpl in the European theater, Belgium and France in the 84th Infantry Divison Company D 335th Infantry. He was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He is a true American Hero and I look up to him and admire all that he has accomplished in his life.

Papaw and Mamaw had been married 65 years when Papaw passed away. They have two children, Margaret & Don. They have 4 grandchildren, Chris (my brother), me, Brandon & Brent (Don's children). He also have 3 great grandchildren, Bryleigh & Tracee (my girls) and Mary Elizabeth (Chris' girl). He also had many nieces, nephews, friends & family who will also truly miss him.

I've always been real close to Papaw & Mamaw, maybe it was because I only lived a hop skip and jump away from their house. All I have to do is walk through the pasture to get to their house. My fondest memory of Papaw will be that the girls & I would visit just about everyday to have Ice Cream Floats. That was our favorite thing to do at Papaw May & Mamaw May May's house. And it was Papaw's favorite thing too. He loved a cup of Ice Cream with "Just a Little" Dr. Pepper in it.
Everytime we would visit their house, Tracee would play in the hallway with the toys & Bryleigh would swing on the tire swing. Everytime we would leave, Bryleigh & Tracee would hug Papaw's neck and say "love you Papaw". Bryleigh is taking Papaw's death pretty good. This is her first experience with Death. So she is full of questions. Tracee is young and she may not remember alot about Papaw but, right now she is asking "where's papaw?". I know she will miss her Ice Cream partner :)

I will never forget how Papaw would sit on his back porch feeding the cats, watching the ducks, squirrels & birds and talking to his best friend, Gage. I know that Papaw is in a much better place. I know he will never have to worry about not being able to breathe there and that he won't have any pain or suffering. I know he is happy because he is able to be reunited with his family and all his loved ones that have gone on before. I know that he is at Peace now. I am so happy to have had the privilege of having him as a grandfather. I have so many wonderful memories of him that I will be able to pass on to my daughters. I will truly miss him. We love you Papaw May and we will never forget you. And we will see you soon!
